Built by an exercise physiologist, for exercise physiologists

Test Athletes. Send Reports. Know Your Numbers.

For exercise physiologists, sports scientists, and performance coaches. Threshold turns raw lactate, VO₂max and RMR test data into clear, branded reports your clients understand, with every test and every client organised in one place.

Threshold dashboard showing test history, athletes, and clinic tools
Built in the lab Designed around real testing days, not generic CRM workflows
Reports clients keep Clear curves, thresholds and zones, not raw data exports
Your data, your brand Every report carries your clinic's identity, not ours
The Problem

Great testing.
Forgettable reporting.

Most labs run brilliant tests, then hand clients a PDF that looks like it came out of the equipment, or a spreadsheet they'll never open again. The work is good. The story doesn't land.

Raw metabolic cart software showing FAT, CHO and RER readouts mid-test What the equipment gives you
01 · DATA

Numbers without meaning

Raw exports show lactate values, VO₂max figures and RMR outputs, but not what they mean for training, or what to do next.

02 · TIME

Hours spent on formatting

Building zone tables and curve charts by hand for every client eats into the time you should spend coaching.

03 · RETENTION

No reason to come back

Without a clear before/after story, clients don't see the value of retesting, and your retest revenue suffers.

The Product

From raw data to a report worth sending.

Run your test the way you always have. Threshold does the rest, mapping the lactate curve, marking thresholds, and turning it into something your client will actually read.

Step One, On Test Day

Enter data as you test. Nothing to redo later.

Pick the test type, log the client, then enter each stage as it happens. Threshold handles lactate curves, VO₂max imports and RMR calculations, so there's no second pass to tidy up a spreadsheet afterwards.

  • Running and cycling protocols, side by side
  • New or existing clients in one step
  • Live stage entry with automatic rest timing
Stage data entry screen showing baseline readings and per-stage speed, lactate, heart rate and RPE
Step Two, The Report

The curve, mapped and explained.

The moment testing wraps, Threshold plots the full lactate curve against heart rate, automatically marking LT1 and LT2. Drag either threshold to fine-tune against your own clinical judgement, and the report updates instantly.

  • Automatic LT1/LT2 detection from the Mader model
  • Drag-to-adjust thresholds, with one-click reset
  • Speed, pace, heart rate and lactate at every stage

Step Three, Training Zones

Zones your client can train by tomorrow.

Every report translates thresholds straight into five training zones, with heart rate, pace, and a plain-language description of what each zone feels like and what it's for. Add predicted race times across conservative, optimal and aggressive pacing.

  • Five-zone breakdown with HR and pace ranges
  • Switch between min/km, min/mi or manual entry
  • Race time predictions for any distance

Everything Your Clinic Needs

One tool, from test to retest.

Threshold isn't a generic CRM with a fitness skin. Every feature maps to something that actually happens in a performance lab.

Lactate, VO₂max & RMR

Run lactate threshold tests, VO₂max assessments and resting metabolic rate tests, all in one place with automatic threshold detection.

VO₂max imports

Import CSV exports directly from your metabolic cart. VT1, VT2, full training zone breakdowns and RER data all pulled in automatically.

Automated report delivery

Every test generates a branded report and emails it to your client automatically, with no manual exporting or formatting.

Athlete roster

Every client and every test, in one place. See who's due a retest at a glance and never lose a result again.

Progress tracking

Track improvement trends, pace charts and zone shifts over time, the before/after story that drives retest bookings.

Clinic analytics

Monthly test volume, cohort status, and your top-moving athletes, the numbers that matter for running the business.

Getting Started

Up and running before your next test.

01

Set up your clinic

Add your branding, your testing protocols, and your team. Threshold adapts to how you already run tests, not the other way around.

02

Run the test as normal

Enter stage data as you go, or import directly from your metabolic cart. Thresholds and zones are calculated live.

03

Send the report

One click, or set it to send automatically. Your client gets a clear, branded report they'll actually open again.

Common Questions

What you're probably wondering.

LT1 (the aerobic threshold where fat oxidation dominates and lactate remains close to baseline), LT2 (the anaerobic threshold where lactate begins accumulating faster than it clears), five personalised training zones with heart rate and pace or power ranges, and predicted performance times across standard race distances. All derived from the athlete's actual measured physiology, not age-based estimates.
VO₂max testing measures maximal oxygen uptake (ml/kg/min), ventilatory thresholds VT1 and VT2, fat and carbohydrate oxidation rates at every exercise intensity, the fuel crossover point, and caloric expenditure per training zone. Combined with lactate data, it gives a complete aerobic and metabolic profile of the athlete.
Thresholds are detected automatically using the Mader model applied to the measured lactate curve. Both LT1 and LT2 markers can be dragged to any point on the curve to apply your own clinical judgement, and all downstream zones and predictions update instantly. One click resets to the model's suggestion at any time.
Yes. Running and cycling have separate protocol options within the same test entry screen. Running outputs use pace and heart rate; cycling outputs use power and heart rate. Both produce full threshold profiles, training zones, and race or power predictions. An athlete can have both running and cycling tests on record, tracked independently.
Lactate threshold testing only requires a lactate analyser, no metabolic cart needed. RMR testing requires a gas analyser or metabolic analyser to measure oxygen consumption and CO₂ production at rest. VO₂max testing requires a full metabolic cart for CSV import. If you are running lactate-only testing, you are ready to go from day one.
The whole team. You can invite staff as editors (able to run tests and send reports) or as viewers who can read results but not make changes. All access is managed from the clinic settings, and every test is tied to your clinic's account, not individual logins.
Access is invite-only. We onboard clinics individually so we can make sure the platform fits your testing workflow. Book a free demo and if it's a fit, we'll set up your clinic and get you running within 24 hours.
Your athlete data is completely isolated from every other clinic on the platform. No clinic can ever access another's records. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication is available for all accounts, and we are compliant with Singapore's PDPA with GDPR principles applied throughout.
